Review

"The story is about Dixie, an ex country-western star, newly released from prison for murdering his wife. He wants to start fresh, so he refuses to do the one thing he was good at, singing…Under Guy Giarrizzo's direction, performances from this panoply of misfits were intense and focused: Herbert Rubens as Dixie's father; Brian Shnipper, Suzanne von Eck, and Lainie R. Siegel as types one wouldn't pick to hitchhike across the desert with; Charles Dumas and Elizabeth M. Schofield conveying their characters' anguish, with Jan Munroe and Faye Lindsey in brief supporting roles…The set (Zhanna Gurvich) contained various abstract modern pieces designed by Moti Gruss that lent an otherworldly tone. The Gilgamesh company are to be applauded for taking a risk with an unusual new work."
